CFO Matt Ross marks five years at Point of Rental, sharing how his background at Lockheed Martin and later software companies shaped his ability to adapt quickly, understand cross-functional work, and go beyond the numbers to find the narrative they're telling.  Matt says he underestimated rental’s complexity and now sees it as a highly exception-driven industry that makes the company’s solutions “sticky.” He thanks leadership and especially customer-facing teams as the drivers of success, and advises new employees to learn what happens before and after their role to become more effective.
