Missing History

When you think about what happened 25 years ago, what is it you are remembering? Is it the tragic loss of those gone too soon for a reason beyond their control? Is it the choice made out of honor to sacrifice themselves during the aftermath in hopes of recovering lives that could still be lived beyond devastation? Is it the murky opinions transformed now over the past 25 years by those who have forgotten the authentic purpose of historic preservation and think their judgment is more valuable than the truth and its severity? We made the promise to commit ourselves to the truth and to teach future generations the importance of remembering the facts. We cannot shy away from speaking on difficult subjects just because people may be sensitive to hearing the harshness that is reality. Sharing the truth of what really happened is how we continue to honor those whose lives have been lost during the attacks on 9/11/2001 and the sacrifices made since then. We have to preserve the values that we stand for, lest we kneel to anything. We as a country have weakened our values and so we have weakened our culture. Our lives, liberty, and pursuit of happiness are at jeopardy every time we choose not to remain vigilant to our commitments. Safety isn't a convenience, it's something we must seek out and protect for the sake of our lives and loved ones who will live long after we are gone. Books with missing pages have memories that are forgotten. We have to educate with facts and remember the hard days of battle so those days do not repeat themselves just so we can cater to the weak-minded individuals incapable of handling the truth. We have to carry the strength of maintaining the valor our country was founded upon. Do the right thing even if it's a just little bit harder, like making sure you are spreading facts. Do some actual research before regurgitating the garbage shown on social media for views, because you are teaching others whether you mean to or not, so why not choose to educate the truth? The high road isn't the easiest, but it does have the view worth the climb.
