Mark Menghi - King UltraMega & MusiCares - Tribute to Chris Cornell

Mark Menghi speaks candidly about his music project King UltraMega, which pays tribute to Chris Cornell and Soundgarden while donating proceeds to Music Cares Foundation. Mark explained how the project began during the pandemic with a casual "Rusty Cage" recording that evolved into a full tribute album after discussions with Kim Thayil and Vicki Cornell. This has grown into working with a network of legendary musicians for this amazing cause. Menghi shares the importance of knowing when not to play, allowing the songs to breathe, getting out into the world and making mistakes and the importance of friendship and openess. Mark shares how collaborations came together organically, including bringing in Lizzie Hale from Lizzo's band for "Loud Love" after a spontaneous suggestion.
