Carrie Phenix presented herself as an attorney who handled wills, trusts, and estates. In reality, her name was Caroline Herrling, she had no law license, and the legal authority she displayed existed almost entirely on forged paper.Using fake identities, counterfeit wills, impostors, and practiced signatures, Carrie stole nearly $3.9 million from vulnerable people, including the elderly, the isolated, and the dead.Then she and her accomplice allegedly found Charles Wilding dead inside his home.
