Alina Gozin'a - ChangeMaker Chat - The Art of Seeing

Alina Gozin'a is one of Australia's most celebrated photographers, having photographed some of Australia's and the world's most powerful people, like Scott Farquhar, Andrew Forrest, Frank Lowy, Kevin Rudd, Christine Lagarde, and Sam Mostyn. But her path into photography was anything but conventional. After immigrating from the Soviet Union to Australia, she began her career as a tax adviser at PwC before becoming a renowned photographer, visual storyteller, strategist and advocate for creativity. In this Chat, Alina explores how that unusual journey has shaped the way she sees — and her ability to move between disciplines, perspectives and worlds. She takes us inside the practice of photography: what it means to really look, to notice what others miss, and to see the same person or situation from different angles. Together, we explore what those practices might teach us about public life and making a difference. It’s a conversation that crosses disciplines and experiences, showing how even small shifts in how we see can have a big impact on how we understand the world — and how we work with others.
