SFD 367: Sent on a Drink Tray

This week on Sent from Disneyland, we travel back to November 1971 with two postcards featuring Sleeping Beauty Castle and the Disneyland Band. Both cards were used to record a day at Disneyland, offering a small glimpse into how guests documented their memories. Then we head into the curio cabinet to explore the history of Disneyland metal drink trays. From early advertising and souvenir trays to four examples in my collection featuring California landmarks, Mickey Mouse, the Mark Twain, Jungle Cruise, Tomorrowland, and more, we'll look at how these practical souvenirs became collectible pieces of Disneyland history. Plus, an incoming postcard from the Star Trek Original Series Set Tour, a funny Walt Disney World raincoat story, and thinking about postcard mysteries to investigate.
