DETMERS DESERVED BETTER! Angels Fall 6-3 in Extras | Kroenke & NEW STADIUM Talk!

About this episode
Another frustrating night at Angel Stadium as the Angels fall to the New York Yankees 6-3 in 10 innings, despite a terrific performance from Reid Detmers. Detmers did everything the Angels could have asked for, holding New York to one run through seven innings, but once again the offense gave its starting pitcher almost nothing to work with. The Angels managed only four hits in the game, tied it late, and forced extra innings before the Yankees exploded for five runs in the 10th. The Angels answered with two, but by then the damage was done. And adding to the atmosphere: it certainly felt like Yankee Stadium West at times with all the Yankees support in the building. ToddFox talks about what it's like watching the Angels play at home with such a strong visiting-fan presence. But the game is only PART of tonight's show because the biggest Angels story continues to be Stan Kroenke's agreement to purchase controlling ownership of the franchise from Arte Moreno. The transaction is expected to become official in the first quarter of 2027, pending MLB approval. And now everybody wants to know: WHAT HAPPENS TO ANGEL STADIUM? There has already been plenty of speculation about a potential new ballpark, but there's an important distinction between rumors and confirmed plans. Anaheim owns Angel Stadium and the surrounding land, and the current Angels lease runs through 2032, with extension options potentially taking it through 2038. MLB reports that it remains unclear whether Kroenke would ultimately pursue a brand-new stadium or a major renovation accompanied by a larger sports-and-entertainment development. A report claiming Kroenke planned a $2.5 billion replacement stadium was subsequently taken down, and Anaheim officials said no such proposal had been presented to them. So ToddFox breaks down what we actually know, what remains speculation, and why Kroenke's track record developing SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park makes the future of the Big A property one of the biggest stories to follow. Angels lose 6-3. Detmers deserved better. But with new ownership on the horizon, the future of Angels baseball suddenly feels a whole lot more interesting. Sound off in the comments: Would you rather Kroenke completely renovate the Big A or build a brand-new stadium in Anaheim?
