About this episode

On October 13, 2009, 24-year-old model and actress Eliza Silva Samudio filed a complaint after her ex-boyfriend, Bruno, claiming that he and his friends had beaten her, forced her to take oral abortion medication, and then held her at gunpoint inside a private prison. Maria Aparecida Mallet, a delegate from the Specialized Police Station for Women in Jacarepagua, Brazil, requested a protective order that stated Bruno would be required to stay 980 feet from Eliza. This request was denied by judge Ana Paula Delduque Migueis Laviola de Freitas, who said that Eliza did not have an intimate relationship with Bruno at that point and that she was “trying to punish the aggressor under penalty of trivializing the purpose of the Maria da Penha Law,” which is a law in Brazil that increases the severity of punishment for domestic violence against women, occurring in a domestic or family environment. The Legal Medical Institute of Rio de Janeiro didn’t provide any further forensic exam results until June of 2010, after Eliza was already dead.Follow us on Instagram, TikTok, and Threads: @housewifediditpod Check out our website and merch at https://the-housewife-did-it.square.siteWe have an exciting opportunity for EVRY-one!
