In October 1985, 17-year-old Michele “Missy” Avila went for a walk in the Angeles National Forest with a group of friends, but she would never make it home. As investigators began trying to piece together what happened, the people closest to Missy would become increasingly important to a case filled with jealousy, betrayal, and shocking twists. What happened during that walk would leave a family devastated and raise questions that would linger for years.
