About this episode

OCTOBER 9 - When the Light Breaks Through3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 25:17–18; John 9//3-Year Bible Devotional Book (Year Two) Available on Amazon//________________________________________“Let your foot be seldom in your neighbor’s house, lest he have his fill of you and hate you. A man who bears false witness against his neighbor is like a war club, or a sword, or a sharp arrow.” — Proverbs 25:17–18 (ESV)“So for the second time they called the man who had been blind and said to him, ‘Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.’ He answered, ‘Whether he is a sinner I do not know. One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.’” — John 9:24–25 (ESV)________________________________________Have you ever been misunderstood, judged, or pressured to go along with what other people say? Maybe friends spread rumors, or someone expected you to agree with them just to fit in. Proverbs 25:17–18 reminds us that how we treat others—whether by respecting boundaries or avoiding lies—has serious impact. In John 9, a man who had been blind his whole life suddenly had his sight restored by Jesus. The religious leaders didn’t believe him and even tried to twist his story. But the man stood firm: “One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.”Sometimes people won’t understand your faith or the choices you make for God. They may push back, doubt you, or even mock you. But like the man in John 9, you don’t have to have all the answers—you just need to hold on to what Jesus has done in your life. Truth always stands, even when voices around you don’t want to hear it.________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. Respect and Integrity: Proverbs warns us to respect others’ space and never use our words like weapons. Are you careful with how you treat friendships, both in person and online?2. Stand on Your Story: The healed man didn’t debate theology—he simply shared what Jesus had done. What’s one way you can confidently share your faith story with others, even if they don’t get it?3. Choose Truth Over Pressure: When people pressure you to bend, blend, or stay quiet, will you stand in the light of Jesus’ truth like the man in John 9?________________________________________BOTTOM LINEWhen people doubt or pressure you, stand firm in what Jesus has done for you—your story is your testimony.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, thank You for opening my eyes to Your truth. Help me to respect others, speak with integrity, and stand firm in my faith even when people don’t understand. Give me boldness to share my story and let Your light shine through me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
