BIG FAMILY UPDATE: Did We Finally Find Our Apartment In Switzerland?

Twenty-eight apartment visits. Closed doors, unanswered applications, rising hopes, and painful disappointments. Did we finally find our family’s new home in Switzerland?In this vulnerable family update, we take you behind the scenes of our apartment search—and share what God is teaching us while the answer is still unfolding.Some homes looked wonderful online but were completely different in person. One had fewer bedrooms than advertised. Another overlooked a nuclear power plant. Then there was the beautiful former pastor’s home that seemed almost too good to be true.Despite its spacious rooms and surprisingly affordable price, none of us had peace about it. Our children strongly resisted the idea, and we initially thought they were simply being difficult. What the renter later revealed about the spiritual activity inside the house made us thank Jesus for protecting our family and reminded us why every family member’s discernment matters. This journey has become about far more than finding an apartment.God has been teaching us to surrender our plans, expectations, and timeline. He has reminded us that something can look perfect on paper without being His best for us. He sees the neighborhood, the school, the people, and the complete picture that we cannot see. Even the unsuccessful viewings have carried purpose. Some became unexpected moments of encouragement, prayer, testimony, and genuine connection. God was not wasting the journey; He was sending us into places and lives we might never have encountered otherwise. Maybe you are also living in a waiting season. You could be praying for healing, restoration in your marriage, a child to return to God, a new position, or an opportunity to serve.Faith does not require us to pretend that waiting is easy. It invites us to remain obedient, keep our hearts tender, and trust God’s Word before the answer becomes visible.
