Epi 82: “Just” Vet Med Burnout? Why Every Little Thing Gets on Your Last Nerve (Part 2)
About this episode
Picture this: The phones are ringing off the hook, fluorescent lights are glaring overhead, someone’s trying to have a conversation with you while three other conversations are happening around you, and then add a barking dog to the mix. Why does every little thing seem to get on your last nerve so quickly?
In Part 2 of this series, I'm sharing more of the everyday frustrations I experienced in practice that I later realized were connected to my ADHD and autism, especially when it comes to sensory overload.
We'll talk about why certain sounds, smells, and environments can leave you feeling irritable, overstimulated, and completely exhausted, even when you can't pinpoint why (and yes, this can happen even if you're neurotypical!).
And more importantly, I'll share practical ways to recognize what's happening and reduce the mental and physical toll, whether you're neurodivergent or not.
