Laughs, Cards. A special guest. A promo code & the beginning of Del Piero’s podcasting career.

EPISODE 62 IS HERE… and we’ve somehow managed to get even less professional. This week, we’re joined by a very special guest: Piero from Swopsies! Or, as he’ll forever be known on this podcast… Del Piero. Sorry Piero, you walked straight into that one.Piero joins the boys to share his sports card collecting journey, the story behind why he created Swopsies, and drops some BIG news about an exciting collaboration. You’ll have to listen to find out what it is — because we’re not giving everything away for free around here.Speaking of free-ish things, Piero has also hooked our listeners up with an exclusive promo code. Use CCPOD and get involved. Honestly, we’d use it ourselves if we were allowed.Elsewhere, BC semi-calls out PCG. Let’s be absolutely clear: BC LOVES PCG. He just also loves receiving emails back. Come on, lads. It takes two seconds. We also debut a brand-new feature, “Give Us Your Stats”, dive headfirst into plenty of Topps Flagship chat, and somehow find ourselves surrounded by rogue Forrest Gump and Frank Sinatra quotes. Standard behaviour, really.Lots of laughs. Lots of cards. A special guest. A promo code. And potentially the beginning of Del Piero’s podcasting career. What a show.As always, follow the boys for the sports cards and join us for another episode of Coom & Currie Sports Cards — where the hobby chat is strong and the professionalism is very much optional.TakeawaysCard collecting preferencesChallenges with PCG engagementImportance of clear communication in card transactionsThe value of setting boundaries and communicating them The importance of personal stories and emotional connections to cardsThe impact of hype and newness on the hobby Personal passion drives card collectingCard breaks offer a chance to obtain rare cardsSwopsies introduces a new approach to card tradingChapters00:00 Introduction and Card Collection02:48 PCG Premier Card Grading14:21 Topps Merlin Mix-Up21:26 Taking a Break from Breaks25:21 Introduction and Guest Reveal26:16 Quick Fire Questions29:47 Favorite Cards and Collecting Stories39:41 Hype and Newness vs. Long-Term Fandom47:21 Personal Collecting Journeys50:40 The Journey of Card Collecting52:46 The Rise of Card Breaks57:09 The Emergence of Swopsies
