One Flesh: Understanding God’s Design for Sex

About this episode

I think a lot of us know what the Bible teaches about sex, but have you ever stopped to ask why? That’s the question that led me into this episode. Together, we’re going back to Genesis to explore what it means to become “one flesh” and why both Jesus and Paul keep coming back to that passage when they talk about marriage. We’ll also look at why Paul tells us to flee sexual immorality, what Scripture teaches about God’s design for sex and intimacy, and what all of this means for us today. We’ll also wrestle with some honest questions. Why can pornography have such a strong hold on us? Why do we sometimes feel attached long after a relationship has ended? And if our story doesn’t look like God’s original design, what does redemption actually look like? My hope isn’t that this episode gives you every answer. My hope is that it encourages you to open your Bible, ask honest questions, and discover God’s heart for yourself.
