Menachem Begin in 10 Minutes

Menachem Begin, the Polish-born underground commander who led the Irgun through the final struggle against the British and the birth of the state, rose from decades in the political wilderness to become the first Likud prime minister and the unexpected architect of peace with Egypt. To admirers he remains the unyielding Revisionist who refused to apologize for Jewish strength, the survivor of Soviet prisons and the Holocaust who signed the Camp David Accords yet never relinquished the claim to the ancestral heartland, a figure whose life traced the long arc from revolutionary fighter to statesman and whose legacy still divides and inspires in equal measure.
