Falling into Faith

About this episode
This week on One Sweet Single Life, we're talking about the most important relationship we'll ever have: our relationship with God.Between work, friendships, dating, and everything else life throws our way, it's surprisingly easy to put our faith on the back burner. Even when we're practicing Catholics, we can find ourselves going through the motions rather than intentionally growing closer to Christ. We're getting into what it means to build a faith life that's genuinely your own, why holiness isn't an aesthetic or a competition, and how to stop treating God like an emergency contact (or someone we need to impress to get what we want!).From prayer routines and personal devotions to pilgrimages and finding Catholic community, we're sharing practical ways to make faith a natural part of everyday life without turning it into another item on your to-do list.Growing in holiness isn't about becoming the picture-perfect Catholic girl. It's about growing in relationship with the One who already loves YOU!Your challenge this week: Take an honest look at your faith life. Where might you be giving God your leftovers instead of your first fruits? Choose one small, intentional way to grow closer to Him this week.Whether you're single, dating, or simply trying to deepen your spiritual life, this conversation is for you. Let's keep the conversation going!Call or text our Sweet Single Hotline: 361-85-SWEET (361-857-9338)Email us: sweetsinglelifepodcast@gmail.com
We'd love to hear from you! Also, for those who are curious, these are the Catholic Church's basic requirements in one's spiritual life. They are called the Five Precepts of the Church. These are the minimum obligations for practicing Catholics, outlined in the Catechism (CCC 2041–2043).Attend Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation, and observe these days as holy through appropriate rest.Confess serious sins at least once a year. More frequent confession is encouraged.Receive Holy Communion at least once during the Easter season, provided you're properly disposed to receive.Observe the Church's prescribed days of fasting and abstinence, including the applicable Lenten requirements.Contribute to the material needs of the Church, according to your ability. The Church gives us the minimum, but love invites us to give more. Not because we're trying to earn God's love or prove we're holy enough, but because when you love someone, you want to spend time with them!!
