Fantilli’s Future Hangs in the Balance

About this episode

Adam Fantilli’s contract stalemate is heating up as August ticks on — with the Blue Jackets holding over $13M in cap space but unlikely to offer him a deal that eats into their future flexibility. His agent is actively negotiating, and Fantilli, after two stellar seasons, clearly wants to be paid. The team sees him as their cornerstone center and knows they must find a middle ground — possibly by moving assets like Zach Werenski before his contract expires. Expect a resolution within weeks, likely for less than the full cap figure — balancing today’s needs with tomorrow’s star.
