On 4 August 1892, two brutal murders took place inside an ordinary family home in Fall River, Massachusetts. In June 1893, Lizzie stood trial for both murders. Despite the allegations, conflicting testimony and intense public scrutiny, the jury found her not guilty.Nobody else was ever convicted.More than 130 years later, the mystery remains. But the story does not end with the courtroom.Beyond the famous nursery rhyme lies a much more complicated history, one involving real people, devastating loss and a woman who was acquitted but never entirely escaped public suspicion. The murders remain unsolved. The house remains standing. And the questions remain.Viewer discretion is advised.Historical photographs and illustrations featured in this production have been sourced from Wikimedia Commons and other historical reference material. The following acknowledgements recognise the original creators, identified contributors and applicable reuse licences.Lizzie Borden House, 1892: 1892 image, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons.Lizzie Borden historical portrait: See page for author, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons.Lizzie Borden historical portrait: Anonymous/Unknown author, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons.Abby Durfee Gray Borden, crime-scene photograph: Historical image, via Wikimedia Commons.
