Chronological Reading of the Bible - Day 286 - October 13, 2026

About this episode
This is part of a year long reading of the Bible chronologically in a harmonized format.Isaiah 49:1 - 51:23- The LORD's Servant, called before his birth, is made a light to the Gentiles to bring God's salvation to the ends of the earth, and when Zion says the LORD has deserted her, He answers that even if a mother could forget her nursing child, He would not forget her, for He has written her name on the palms of His hands.- The Servant offers his back to those who beat him and does not hide his face from mockery and spitting, setting his face like a stone, and God tells those who hope for deliverance to look to Abraham and Sarah, promising that His salvation lasts forever, the ransomed will return to Jerusalem singing, and He will take the cup of His fury from her hands.Acts 26:1-32- Before King Agrippa, Paul tells how he lived as a Pharisee and zealously persecuted believers until a light from heaven stopped him on the road to Damascus and Jesus said, "I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting," sending him to the Gentiles to open their eyes so they may turn from darkness to light.- Paul says he obeyed that vision and taught that the Messiah would suffer and be the first to rise from the dead, and when Festus shouts that he is insane, Paul asks Agrippa if he believes the prophets, Agrippa asks if Paul thinks he can persuade him to become a Christian so quickly, and Agrippa later says Paul could have been set free if he hadn't appealed to Caesar.
