DAY 210: Isaiah 49–53

About this episode
DAY 210: Isaiah 49–53Isaiah reaches the theological heart of God’s promised restoration by answering the greatest problem facing His people: how can a holy God restore sinful Israel without ignoring her guilt? The answer is the suffering Servant. He comes as the faithful Israelite Israel failed to be, restoring Jacob while becoming a light whose salvation reaches the ends of the earth. He listens where Israel rebelled, obeys where Israel wandered, gives His back to those who strike Him, and willingly enters suffering and shame. Then Isaiah 53 reveals the staggering reason: He suffers as a substitute. He is pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities, and punished so that guilty sinners may have peace. The Lord lays upon Him the iniquity of us all. Yet His suffering ends not in defeat but victory. The Servant will see His offspring, justify many, and be exalted because death cannot hold Him. Isaiah points unmistakably to Jesus Christ, who bears sin, remains silent before His accusers, dies among transgressors, is buried in a rich man’s tomb, and rises again. The cross is not the collapse of God’s kingdom plan. It is the center of it. Through the suffering Servant, sinners are forgiven, Israel is restored, the nations receive light, and God’s salvation advances to the ends of the earth.CHECK IT OUT ON:SPOTIFY:
