Pemberton Commits to Michigan State

About this episode

Antonio Pemberton, the top point guard in the 2027 class and the 20 recruit nationally, just committed to Michigan State — live on CBS Sports — making him Coach Izzo’s first big signing. Standing at 6’1” and weighing 165 lbs, Pemberton averaged 24 points per game last season and led his team to a major summer championship finals. With over 30 D-I offers, he narrowed his list after visits to Michigan State, Creighton, Kansas, and Tennessee — ultimately choosing the Spartans for their fit. Known for his scoring instincts, pull-up jumper, and ability to create his own shot, Pemberton brings elite offensive firepower. Scouts note he’ll need to improve decision-making and involve teammates more at the college level, but his competitive drive and skillset make him a standout. Defensively, his footwork is solid, though size may be a challenge against bigger guards. This commitment signals a strong start for MSU’s 2027 class.
