Jaylin Carter Shines in Historic Performance

About this episode

Jaylin Carter exploded onto the scene with a historic performance, rushing for 183 yards and four touchdowns on just 19 carries while adding an 18-yard reception—totaling over 200 all-purpose yards in Memphis’ win over Arkansas State. His breakout effort earned him AAC Offensive Player of the Week honors and tied a program record for rushing TDs, while his yardage was the most by a Tiger since last season. Carter’s explosive efficiency (averaging over 9 yards per carry) was matched by teammate Manny Covey’s 100-yard day, as Memphis racked up a school-record 523 total yards—the highest output since 2024. The game also marked the debut of the newly renovated stadium, cementing Carter as a rising star to watch in the conference.
