About this episode

Rabbi Ike Hanon hosts classes every day at 6:10 AM at West Deal Shul.In this short Sukkot class, Rabbi Ike Hanon asks why the ushpizin visit only on Sukkot and not, say, at the Pesach Seder. The Sefat Emet answers with the Hallel pasuk: Hashem raises the poor from the trash heap to seat them with nobility - after the teshuvah of Elul through Yom Kippur cleanses us, Sukkot is when we are finally worthy to sit with Avraham, Yitzchak, Yaakov, Moshe, Aharon, Yosef, and David, and open enough to learn from them. Then, from Rabbi Mirsky quoting the Gaon mi-Vilna on "Na'aseh Adam": Hashem spoke to the animals, asking each to contribute its best quality to man. So too on Sukkot, Hashem invites each ushpiz to give the Jewish people their middah - Avraham's chesed, Aharon's shalom - if only we invite them in.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -(0:00) Why ushpizin only on Sukkot?
