ARCHIVE SPECIAL: Rendlesham Forest UFO — The Original Charles Halt Tape

In this UFO to UAP Explained Archive Special, hear the original Charles Halt field recording from the Rendlesham Forest UFO incident, one of the most important primary-source audio records in modern UFO history. In December 1980, Lieutenant Colonel Charles Halt entered Rendlesham Forest near RAF Woodbridge and RAF Bentwaters with a small military team to investigate unusual lights and reported physical traces. Carrying a handheld recorder, Halt documented the investigation as it unfolded—capturing observations, environmental readings, changing descriptions and the uncertainty of personnel moving through the forest in real time. This is not a reconstruction, dramatization or later recollection. It is the contemporaneous recording associated with the Rendlesham Forest incident, presented with historical context so listeners can hear the evidence for themselves. The tape does not establish an extraterrestrial explanation, and the case remains heavily debated, but it provides something exceptionally rare: original audio from a military UFO investigation while the event was still underway. Listen closely to what Halt and his team actually say—and compare the primary source with the claims that have accumulated around Rendlesham in the decades since.
