Episode 33: The Invisible Ninety-Five Percent

The technical instruction — the correction, the drill, the feedback — accounts for about five percent of what actually happens in a coaching hour. The other ninety-five is the environment: the physical conditions, the emotional atmosphere, the quality of attention, the accumulated sense of whether this is a place where a person can be at ease. Most coaching education is entirely concerned with the five percent. This episode is about the rest — and why the part nobody is assessing is the part that determines whether anything else can land.
