About this episode

Liam McCabe, co-founder of Code & Wander, replaced the corner chatbot with an Ask button that turns a visitor's question into a custom page. A React app in an iframe streams JSON from Claude one component at a time, using a design system schema and a knowledge base that's one big JSON file. Rate limits, a spend cap, and server-side caching keep costs down (an uncached query runs about 50 cents). The questions visitors type reveal content gaps and service demand that clicks never showed.A visitor declaring what they want beats guessing from tracking pixels, and browser-level personalization could make that opt-in. The brand corpus outlasts any framework or output format, and a website stays real estate you own.
