Jared Jones’ Historic September Changes Everything for 2027

Jared Jones ended 2026 with one of the best months by a Pirates pitcher in more than a century. Alex Stumpf breaks down what changed in September, why the development of Jones’ curveball and changeup matters, and how a deeper four-pitch arsenal could set him up for a major step forward in 2027. Plus, Mason Montgomery takes home NL Reliever of the Month honors, and Alex looks at what Jones could mean for a 2027 rotation featuring Paul Skenes, Braxton Ashcraft, Bubba Chandler and potentially Mitch Keller.
